Swarup Maity
I was born and raised in West Bengal, India, where my early fascination with science gradually evolved into a strong passion for addressing real-world challenges through chemistry. I joined my B.Sc. (Honours) in Chemistry from Midnapore College (Autonomous), Vidyasagar University in 2019. Motivated to dive deeper into material innovation, I joined the Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai for my M.Sc. in Chemistry (2022), where I developed a keen interest in Polymer Chemistry. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry at IIT Bhilai under the supervision of Dr. Sanjib Banerjee.
My doctoral research focuses on the development of next-generation polymeric materials aimed at solving critical problems in energy, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. I work on the design, synthesis, and application of functional polymer systems with tunable properties using both conventional and waste-derived feedstocks.
